The small cart moved slowly along the road. On top of it, a mother dog lay quietly while her three tiny puppies curled closely against her body. The little ones pressed into their mother’s warmth, completely unaware of the traffic around them.

For those three puppies, being beside their mother was enough to make them feel safe.

But behind the cart, a motorcycle was approaching.

The rider didn’t notice the small cart soon enough. By the time he realized what was directly ahead, there was almost no time to react.

Then came the impact.

The motorcycle struck the cart, causing it to shake violently. In an instant, the mother dog and all three puppies were thrown onto the road.

The peaceful moment disappeared.

The puppies began crying in fear. Confused and terrified, they pressed against one another while one desperately tried to crawl toward its mother.

But their mother wasn’t getting up.

She lay on the pavement, stunned by the impact. Her mouth had been injured, and one of her teeth had broken in the collision. She tried to raise her head, but even that small movement seemed painful.

Still, the first thing she did was look for her babies.

Hearing their cries, the mother slowly turned her head toward them.

She was hurt.

She was frightened.

But her eyes remained fixed on those three tiny bodies.

One puppy began crawling toward her, crying with every movement. The mother tried to move closer too, but her injured body wouldn’t cooperate.

She could only watch.

Then the motorcycle rider rushed over.

Realizing what had happened, he immediately knelt beside the animals. He carefully gathered the frightened puppies one by one and placed them close to their mother.

The moment they felt her body again, the puppies pressed themselves against her.

Their cries slowly became quieter.

The injured mother lowered her head toward them, checking each little body as best she could. Despite her own pain, she seemed relieved simply because all three were beside her again.

The rider quickly called for help. There was no time to worry about the damaged cart or anything else on the road.

Four lives needed assistance.

As they waited, the mother remained beside her puppies. She couldn’t stand up to protect them the way she normally would.

So she protected them in the only way she still could.

She stayed.

And the three frightened puppies curled against her as though nothing else in the world mattered.

The accident had happened in only a few seconds, but in those terrifying moments, one thing never changed:
