Early in the morning, Bella was still curled up under her blanket, sleeping peacefully with her phone resting beside her pillow. The room was quiet, the light was soft, and it looked like the perfect morning to sleep in for just a little longer.
But Molly had other plans.
Behind Bella, the cat sat wide awake on the bed, looking far too alert for such an early hour. She glanced at Bella, then at the clock on the wall, as if she had already been waiting for breakfast for an unacceptable amount of time. To Molly, the day had clearly started. The only problem was that her human had not received the message yet.
So Molly decided to send one.
With an expression that was both serious and strangely confident, Molly picked up a phone and started calling the phone beside Bella’s head. A moment later, Bella’s phone began to vibrate against the pillow. On the screen, it looked like the call was coming from the very cat sitting right behind her.
And beside Molly, the only thing on her mind was obvious — a full bowl of food.
Bella slowly opened her eyes, still half asleep and completely confused. She looked at the vibrating phone, then blinked several times as if trying to understand why she was being called so early. Then, little by little, she turned her head and looked behind her.
There was Molly, sitting calmly with the phone near her face, acting as if this was a perfectly normal breakfast request.
Bella stared at her in disbelief.
For a second, it seemed like Bella might ignore the call and go back to sleep. She closed her eyes again, hoping the morning could wait. But Molly was not the kind of cat to accept being ignored when breakfast was involved.
A few moments later, the phone rang again.
Bella’s eyes opened wide.
Molly simply sat there with the proud, unbothered expression of a cat who had discovered the most effective alarm system in the house. No meowing at the door. No knocking things off the table. No dramatic pawing at the blanket. Just one direct call to the breakfast department.
The funniest part was how serious Molly looked. She was not asking. She was informing Bella that sleeping in was no longer an option. Breakfast had been delayed, and Molly had decided to escalate the situation professionally.
Anyone who lives with a cat knows this feeling. Cats may not follow human schedules, but they absolutely expect humans to follow theirs. When they are hungry, the whole house must know. And in Molly’s case, even a phone call was not too much effort if it meant getting food sooner.
Bella may have thought she could enjoy a quiet morning in bed.
But Molly had already made the final decision.
No answer? She would simply call again.
Because when a cat is hungry, silence is not an option — and apparently, neither is sleeping in.
